User Roles Glitch

I'm not sure if any of you have run into this issue but i am working with alfresco 3.4b and in share when i try to change a member's role…it says that the role was successfully change but when I go back to the members list the role change doesnt show and the member has the same role as before.

For example, I as the site manager go into site members and change Joe's role from consumer to manager and then go back to the site. If i go back into members and bring up Joe, it still has him listed as consumer. Also, in the site colleagues dashlet…it shows all of my members listed as consumers even if they are collaborators or contributors. I have no idea what is going on.

Any idea how I can get these role changes to stick?

Hey,   i first time heard this problem…  on log which error you getting…..

No error appears to show up in the log. Its really strange. i have a site with two users (myself as the manager and then a collaborator). I go into members, click on the other person's permissions and change them to consumer. I refresh the page and then both of us are listed as consumers even though I am a manager. I still have all the rights of a manager but I am listed as a consumer. Not really sure whats going on.

but i dont see a fix…i am using alfresco 3.4b…
