Using Alfresco 2.1 OS edition -
Some spaces and files which were visible earlier are somehow not visible to the admin & other users any more.
We have checked the node browser and looks like the spaces are there, but somehow not accessible via UI.
We have restarted the server without any success.
Any ideas on what I can do to resolve this issue.

You could rebuild the Lucene indexes. There are several posts that tell you how.

Andy,
Rebuiding FULL index helped, files are visible now.
However, it did not resolve the issue of Access denied on many spaces.
Steps -
1) Logged in as Admin,
2) On certain spaces, when I click on Manage Space users it says -
Access denied, System is curently in read-only mode
How do I resolve this?

Have you tried to apply a license file at some stage?

Sorry, I addressed you as Andy in the previous post.
No, we have not applied license file which I am assuming is the file containing license keys when you purchase.
We did upgrade to 2.1 about 3 weeks ago.
