Upgrade to Alfresco 4.2 Community

in the relase notes it is noted:

Table "alf_node": Column "node_deleted" has been removed and replaced by using nodes of type "sys:deleted".

Please, can anyone provide me with more details how I ca replace the column with "sys:deleted" when I have a existing table in Alfresc 4.0e ?
Maybe, Mysql Code Syntax Example would be helpfull!

It may be useful even if related to version 4.0

But I want only upgrade the small step

from 4.0 CE

to 4.2 CE

And the only task I do not understand in the moment is what I have to do with replacing the nodes in database (cf. my question and the Alfresco 4.2 CE release notes).
The other tasks, e.g. upgraing to tomcat 7 and Java 7 I have already done
