I've installed the Alfresco Community Edition 5.0.c. I've created a custom type and deployed it to the Data Dictionary/Models folder in Alfresco. I have also created created a web client custom config file and added it to Web Client Extensions.
since Alfresco Community 5.0.b the Explorer UI no longer exists and as such there is no need for Web Client extensions anymore. The Web Client Config console has been removed along with the Explorer UI.
I removed the file from the web client extension and restarted the server/service but I'm not able to view the addition properties for the Model. I dont even see a create content button/link.
I've activated the model. Am I missing a step? See sample file below:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!– Definition of new Model –>
<!– The important part here is the name - Note: the use of the my: namespace which is defined further on in the document –> <model name="my:mynewmodel" xmlns="http://www.alfresco.org/model/dictionary/1.0">
<!– Optional meta-data about the model –> <description>Example custom Model</description> <author></author> <version>1.0</version>
<!– Imports are required to allow references to definitions in other models –> <imports> <!– Import Alfresco Dictionary Definitions –> <import uri="http://www.alfresco.org/model/dictionary/1.0" prefix="d"/> <!– Import Alfresco Content Domain Model Definitions –> <import uri="http://www.alfresco.org/model/content/1.0" prefix="cm"/> </imports>
<!– Introduction of new namespaces defined by this model –> <!– NOTE: The following namespace my.new.model should be changed to reflect your own namespace –> <namespaces> <namespace uri="my.new.model" prefix="my"/> </namespaces> <types> <!– Definition of new Content Type: Standard Operating Procedure –> <type name="my:sop"> <title>Standard Operating Procedure</title> <parent>cm:content</parent> <properties> <property name="myublishedDate"> <type>d:datetime</type> </property> <property name="my:authorisedBy"> <type>d:text</type> </property> </properties> <associations> <association name="my:signOff"> <source> <mandatory>false</mandatory> <many>true</many> </source> <target> <class>cm:content</class> <mandatory>false</mandatory> <many>false</many> </target> </association> <child-association name="myrocessSteps"> <source> <mandatory>false</mandatory> <many>true</many> </source> <target> <class>cm:content</class> <mandatory>false</mandatory> <many>true</many> </target> </child-association> </associations> </type> </types> <aspects> <!– Definition of new Content Aspect: Image Classification –> <aspect name="my:imageClassification"> <title>Image Classfication</title> <properties> <property name="my:width"> <type>d:int</type> </property> <property name="my:height"> <type>d:int</type> </property> <property name="my:resolution"> <type>d:int</type> </property> </properties> </aspect> </aspects> </model>
in which UI are you trying to locate a "Create Content" button? If it is Share you are talking about, then the typical way to work involves the "Specialize type" action in the Document Library. The availability of your type requires a customization in the share-config-custom.xml file. Please look at the documentation for the details.
