Hi.
I installed Alfresco 3.4.d on Debian Lenny, and I can access to http://server:8080/alfresco, but I cannot login as admin/admin, I get the "Unable to login - unknown username/password" error.

Could you help me please?

Thank you very much!
Bye.

Check if are you trying to login with the correct admin password or not?

You can check the default password for admin at - tomcat\webapps\alfresco\WEB-INF\classes\alfresco\web-client-config.xml
Search for <initial-password> and try login with the password mentioned there.

Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Thank you for your answer.
The default admin password is admin:

      <admin>
         <initial-password>admin</initial-password>
      </admin>

I'm trying to login as admin/admin at http://server:8080/alfresco/faces/jsp/login.jsp but it is giving me that error yet.

Thank you very much!

Is it giving you any error on console?

Have you integrated any authentication mechanism e.g LDAP etc?

Not in the console, where I can check exactly?

Have you integrated any authentication mechanism e.g LDAP etc?

Absolutely not, I've just installed Alfresco and I configured nothing else.

I checked in the alfresco.log and catalina.out files but I don't see any new lines when I try to login.

Do you have any hints?

Have you properly created the database and made the relevant configuration in alfresco-global.properties file when you have installed alfresco?

Also, try running the below Out-of-the-box authentication webscript and see what it returns?
http://localhost:8080/alfresco/service/api/login?u=admin&pw=admin

I have this exact same issue.  Unable to log in to Alfresco or Share.  The password in the xml file you mentioned is the same password I'm using to login.
The results of your webscript above follows:
HTTP Status 404 -
