Unable to Find Repository Item Reference by ID

I have been Trying to troubleshoot my Friend's Alfresco in his Office..
This error has been popping up whenever he tries to search for some files.. Apparently,
This is what he did prior to that error..

He migrated Servers by only copying the alf_data and did not export the database.

The error only appears when he searches for some of the pre-migration files, but the new ones none.. Is there anyway for the database the recreate the reference IDs? How do you troubleshoot this problem?
I tried downloading and reuploading the file.. it did not work. I even tried renaming the file by putting a suffix, still nothing. What can I do?

You need the database and the content store, together.    At the moment your index contains information for stuff that is not in the database.   If you re-index then the errors will go away,  but your "old" data is not and will not be available. 

Your friend needs to do the migration again since he has lost important data.

But if he does that the "new" data.. the one created post-migration, will be the one not available…
Is there any tool I can use that can merge both databases and retain whatever relations the old one has?
