Tunning / Setting up CIFS

Hi !

I'm trying to find some information about alfresco's 4 (Installed Version :Community - v4.0.0 (4003)) fileServer subsystem, and CIFS.

I red many documentation on this forum and on the alfresco's documentation about the subsystem in general, and CIFS in particulary, but i didn 't find what I look for (maybe I misunderstood  :wink:  )

Here it is : on my alfresco server, I can reach CIFS from a client using \\Alfrescoa ; at this point, I see 2 folders : one called "alfresco" and one called "AVM".

The AVM seem to contain sub folder, but nothing really useful (for me) ; I don t really know what is is about.
The Alfreso share contains sites folder.

I would like to remove the AVM from the share, and point the alfresco to the top of the repository. I spotted the "rootFolder" settings as the main option for this behaviour, but I can t figure out where it needs to be changed in subsys file-servers-context.xml file or file-servers.properties, or both ? It is possible to add another folder in \\alfrescoa root pointing to a particular sub repository ?

Ex: \\alfrescoa\alfresco => Pointing to root repository
      \\alfrescoa\site=> Pointing to site repository
      \\alfrescoa\template=> Pointing to sub repository

The file settings tree is not clear for me … (xml vs flat file)

regards,

/Raphael.

AVM is related to WCM(Web Content Management).
It will contain all your webprojects and it contents in case you are using WCM.
And It could directly point to what ever the folder you like under you repository.
There is one URL called view in CIFS associated with each content.
If you configure your drive with the URL from the folder which you want to keep as root then it will show the files from that folder only.

Hi Mitpatoliya !

I can see the "view in CIFS" link in all repositories ; if I click on it, nothing happens, only on site repository, the url is like file://alfrescoa//alfresco. If I browse \\alfrescoa from my windows client, I can only see the alfresco "share" (pointing to site repo.) and this famous AVM.

What I would like is to have from the \\alfrescoa\ CIFS share a folder pointing to my root (ex \\alfrescoa\root) and another one for ex, pointing to a sub repo. for ex \\alfrescoa\projects, and remove the AVM.

At least, if alfresco can manage only on "share" have the root repo. instead of the site sub repo.

I think I have to digg info the files config, but I can t find exacly where.

Regards,

Raphael.

Hi !

I found this thread : https://forums.alfresco.com/en/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=41237

This explain how to change the root folder.

Now, is there a way to add other share in CIFS/Webdav/FTP ?

regards,

Raphael.

All the contents of Share are managed in the alfresco DM only.
So if you point to company home>Sites those are nothing but your share only.
