Im a 1st time user of Alfresco and have no idea why I get this message when I try and delete a user..???

Unable to delete the User object associated with the Person. This is not an error if an external authentication mechanism such as NTLM was previously active.
Failed to delete User due to error: Transaction has been rolled back because it has been marked as rollback-only

Hi

How are you authenticating? How are users being created? Are you pulling them out of LDAP and how is this configured? Does it fail if you try again?
Which version of Alfresco are you using?

You should not get the transaction error.

Andy

hi Andy,

we create the users manually and authenticate them trough ldap.  we have configured the ldap-authentication-context.xml file and have added necessary info.

Version of alfresco is 1.3.0
when I try again it still gives me the same errors.

Cheers

Hi

LDAP authentication does not support creating, deleting, or changing users.
The assumption is that as you are using LDAP then there is some other mechanism to do this. Alfresco will just read and use information from LDAP.

V1.4 can be configured so you can delete people from Alfresco, but they will still exist in LDAP. If you use LDAP import of people then they will come back at some point if they are still found in the LDAP server.
