Trouble with guest

What happened to our guest user? We are in a situation where we would like to give all but admin users view-only permissions, but we can't get the guest login to work.

Why can't we modify the guest user properties to include a workable password?

Or:
Is there a way to give a non-guest user view-only permission?

Hi

Guest access does not require a password.
It could be fixed to allow the user guest to enter any password.
This was excluded in the design.

All users have read access by default and all permissions for their home space. You could reset these permissions. Owners of nodes will have all permissions. This can also be disabled.
