Hey,

I know that Alfresco supports transparent layers, i read http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Transparent_Layers but it doesn't describe how to use transparent layers within Alfresco.

Can someone tell how this works or where I can find more information for using transparent layers.
I want a central place for all the documents, from there I want to place a transparent copy of the document in a different folder. So when I change the document in the different folder, the document in the central place is changed as well.

Edit: Maybe a little more information on what I am using can be necessarily. I am running alfresco 2.0 community on a windows 2003 server within virtual pc. I installed the RM module an WCM.

Thanks in advance,

Edwin

Me, too, I am very interested in this.

Is this feature implemented via aspects? (I.e., I can use it everywhere?)

Or can it only be used in WCM?

Many thanks for a short note,
Kaspar

It sounds like what you are looking for is like the link object in the DM project to point to a file in a sandbox.

The transparent layers is a capability which is a result or product of the repository technology WCM is built on.   Remember, at the moment the repositories are different.   I could be wrong but I don't think what your asking can be done at the moment.  You can copy and paste files and folders in a WCM space but you cant drop links … I've also never tried to copy and paste from the DM repo to the WCM repo of etc.
