Hello,
Running 4.1.1 and I need to display title differently than default for custom document type. So, I want title, along with custom properties to appear in document list. The title & custom properties is easy enough to achieve by specifying desired properties to in metadata-template and evaluator share-custom-config.
However, as part of this I also want to suppress default behavior of title being displayed along with document name (if title is different) for the custom type. I can do this this by providing my own documentlist.js file with my changes, but I don't know if this is correct/best practice approach to do this. I'm not replacing the documentlist.js that is part of Share, just overriding it with my own documentlist.js
Is there another/better way to suppress title in the doclist display? There is a useTitle parameter that gets passed but I don't know where I could specify that as false. And really, I only want to suppress title for custom type.

I did it in the following way on 4.2.e, with the aim of removing the title and adding the comments number and icon (and some other changes…).

Makes sense. One additional question. The evaluator is looking for DocLibCustom as condition to apply custom renderer. Where is DocLibCustom specified/encountered in context of Share so that your custom Renderer is used?

DocLibCustom is just a configuration section within the DocumentLibrary component. Its goal is to add JavaScripts of CSS files to any page within the DocumentLibrary scope.
Please have a look at
share-documentlibrary-config.xml
You can customize it through share-config-custom.xml in the shared/classes/alfresco/web-extension folder.

I used your idea not to customize attributes rendering, but instead of it, I used it to remove the edit object name feature.
