Hi,

I installed Alfresco (twice but with no difference) on Windows Vista today. When opening localhost:8080/alfresco in Internet Explorer I get:

HTTP Status 404 -
——————————————————————————–
type Status report
message
description The requested resource () is not available.
——————————————————————————–
Apache Tomcat/6.0.18

So there seems to be a resource missing but it doesn't state which one. Is this a familiar error? Any suggestions how to solve this?

Regards, Ronald

Hi,

I installed it on another computer that holds no other software (only windows and IE but no outlook, no excel, no word etc) and there the installation went perfect. So the problem seems te be in conflicting software. Does anyone know how to solve possible conflicting software installation settings? Could it have something to do with the firewall?

Regards, Ronald

I have the same problem, just wanted to bump/post.

Ubuntu 9.10 server 32bit version.  And quite literally the only software I installed after putting Ubuntu on here is Alfresco, django, and midnight commander and that is about it.  It actually did work for a few days, but I screwed something up with Alfresco, wiped the install clean and reinstalled and now I get this same error.

For the people posting in vain on this thread.    You need to give more details.   There's no way anyone can help with the level of detail being posted here.

What's the point of saying, for example, "I changed alfresco global properties", without giving details of what you changed and why.

If alfresco does not start (for example the 404 error) then we need to see the alfresco.log file.

hi, i want to upgrade from 3.2r2 to 3.4.b
in first step i copy my alf_data from 3.2.r to some place.
then i uninstall 3.2.r2 and install fresh 3.4.b,run alfresco.
then Replacement saved alf_data to here.and add custom model to extension dir and create web-client-config-custom.xml .
save changes ,stop alfresco and run it again.then i have this error
