The advanced search on multiple words does not work on Share

Hello,

The advanced search on multiple words does not work on Share. Indeed, when I look in the words: "English French" I find all documents containing either "English" or "French". So I see that research is done with an "OR". I edit the "\ tomcat \ webapps \ alfresco \ WEB-INF \ classes \ alfresco \ web-client-config.xml" to move research into "AND ":

<search-and-terms> true </ search-and-terms>

But the result of research is always the same.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Regards.

I'm not sure why your modification to the web-client-config.xml file does not work. I presume you have restarted the servlet container?

You can always search this way if you want both terms in the result: "+English +French" (without quoutes)

Hi Erik,

I presume you have restarted the servlet container

Yes I restarted the Alfresco server (=servlet container ?)

You can always search this way if you want both terms in the result: "+English +French" (without quoutes)

With this syntax, the result is the same as the syntax "English French". For this to work we should add the "AND " between two words

Thanks.

Unfortunately I still encounter the same problem. Could someone tell me if there is an equivalent of the following setting for research since the interface Share:

"<search-and-terms> true </ search-and-terms>"

If yes, could you, please, tell me the changes needed to be done.

My setup is as follows:
OS: Win Server 2003
Alfresco Community Edition 3.4c

Thanks.

The config changes you hava made only applies to Alfresco Explorer client. I'm not aware of any similar setting for share that alters the default behaviour for Share.
But you can write AND, OR yourself.
Also see http://www.alfresco.com/help/34/community/sharehelp/ and section Reference/Search syntax.
