I'm using Alfresco Community 4.2.
I've done configuration for gmail in alfresco-global.properties as

# Sample Gmail settings

mail.host=smtp.gmail.com

mail.port=465

mail.username***@gmail.com

mail.password=***

# New Properties

mail.protocol=smtps

mail.smtps.starttls.enable=true

mail.smtps.auth=true

mail.testmessage.send=true

mail.testmessage.to=sasuke_eno91@yahoo.com

mail.testmessage.subject=Outbound SMTP

mail.testmessage.text=The Outbound SMTP email subsystem is working.

My yahoo account received the test message.
However, when I applied it on manage content rule, (action send email), no email is sent.

Am I missing something?

As you are able to receive the test message it appears that its not an issue with outbound email configuration.How have you configured the business rule on a space? Is there anything appear in the log when you perform the action on a space as defined for your business rule?

Hi Ramesh,

What I did in the rule is:

When:

    Items are created or enter this folder

If all criteria are met:

    Is of type (or sub type) 'Content'

Perform Action:

    Send email with subject 'Dokumen untuk disemak' to Group "Urusetia Sekretariat"
(the recipients are site managers of the folder)

Nothing comes out from the alfresco.log, share.log or solr.log

That looks fine. Does the email address correctly set for all the users of the group you are selecting? Are you running the rule in background?
For troubleshooting, you can first try sending the email to individual users and see if it is working or not?
Also, you can try sending the test email to these user's email addresses and see if it is working or not?

It's okay now, there is a problem with the server restarting at that time.
Thanks for the points!

If you are "admin" it's a known bug.
