Hi.
Just starting to get grips of Alfresco's fab environment. I have a question that I hope someone out there can help me with.  I am developing a small system where I need to have a shared folder between two tenants. Is this possible in Alfresco and if it is, how hard would it be to implement?

Short scenario about my question:
Company#1 wants to give a file/document to Company#2 for alteration. When Company#2 has made the alterations it hands the file/document back to Company#1. These two companies (tenants?!) not allowed to view each others full repository.

Any ideas how I could implement a shared folder or similar solution, any advice  would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.

/James

I found this, but not sure if it will help me solve my problem.

Have you seen this wiki page?
http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Multi-Tenancy

Gives you an explanation of how the multi tenancy feature works. However it may not support your scenario where two companies occasionally needs to share documents. Then you best option is to use user rights, create a company space for each company, remove the inherit rights, and add only the group/users from that company. The users from other companies will not be able to see that space, and by default all spaces and documents below inherit those rights. Then when they need to share a document, just add the user/group from that other company with the appropriate rights. And remove when done.

Hope this helps. And if so, I do live in Stockholm  Smiley Very Happy

hahahh…great thanks for you answer. I have checked out the MT solution, but there is now shared function between the tenants as you mentioned. The solution to create individual company spaces on one setup of alfresco is not ideal in our case, but thanks for you kind reply and "lucky" me that you live in sthlm. Smiley Wink If you ever want to take me up on my offer I have sent you my details, and I will treat you to a "stor stark" (swe slang for "big strong one").
