Templatable aspect

Could someone explain the benefits of templatable aspects ? I made spaces for all aspect types and most of them are clear to me. If I create a templatable rule on a space I don't see any difference.

What am I supposed to see. What is the value / usability of this aspect.

I have the strong feeling this is a nice thing but need a clue to get started.

BTW : maybe I'm looking in the wrong direction, but I'm trying to make a company space holding all our templates (mostly word *dot files) I would like to start a new document (ex. meeting report from our meeting_report.dot, open it , start a simple wokflow for validation , drop it in the currect space…

Any ideas what the best practice would be ?

The templatable aspect is simply used to store the last used template NodeRef against a Node. So if you use the Apply Dashboard functionality found in the Space Details page, then the template you select is saved in the property on this aspect. It has no other function at present.

You can create sub-folders under the "Presentation Templates" folder in the Data Dictionary area, the templating functionality in the web-client searches all sub-folders automatically.

Thanks,
