Task/attribute validation in the Designer

Hello,

I am working in the Designer and have found that, lets say I have a user task on a process and I have entered a field incorrectly, like dueDate. Is there anyway to find out the field has a problem before deploying the process to the engine and trying to kick it off? I apologize if this is something that is straight forward. This is day 1 with Acitiviti for me.
