Table Editing

In a collaborative environment, end users often request the ability to generate and modify simple tables inline (as opposed to managing Excel document revisions). The YUI components shipped with Share distributions include datatable, but it's not exposed in the Wiki.

Can the developers speak to any plans for including simple table editing? On a related subject, it would be nice to have a 'Create Content' option in the Document Library like Alfresco. Using the YUI instead of TinyMCE would make it much easier for end users, and eliminate the need for using a separate Wiki just to create HTML documents.

Thanks BTW for your excellent infrastructure, and your approach to adding features.

We've had some initial design ideas around DataTable-based editing, but currently have no fixed plan when this might be developed.

Regarding your "Create Content" option, you should take a look at the following two articles:

Thanks Mike, good to know it's been discussed internally. Can/should I add this to Jira or elsewhere as a feature request? I'd be curious to see if it's important to others.

Although the resources you linked to are terrific, they're about as far over my head as an airplane, so I'll need to just cross my fingers and wait patiently Smiley Happy

Great product in any case - I've tried TeamElements, Liferay, Clearspace and others for customer project documentation; but Share has a far better UI and the advantages of Alfresco's maturity. Rock on.
