Hi team
I'm new to Alfresco and pretty fresh on Linux. I'm trying to install 4.0.b on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS to build a business case.
I downloaded the installer from:
Tried to run the file using:
./alfresco-community-4.0.b-installer-linux-x64.bin: 1: Syntax error: Unterminated quoted string
Can someone help me out here? Is this related to the Alfresco installer or my Ubuntu ignorance?
Thanks

Hi,
I haven't tried it, but looking at the documentation, it says that the command should be:
Cheers,

sudo ./alfresco-community-4.0.x-installer-linux-x64.bin —mode text
If the docs aren't wrong, you are missing a "-". Also make sure you have execution permissions (chmod +x). Hope it helps.Cheers,
Jordi.

Hi Jordi
Thanks for the response. I've tried using —mode text as well as –mode text.
Both methods are listed in the Documentation (How do I notify the admin's of this?)
–mode text described at
—mode text described at
Execute permissions are set.
Any other pointers? Has anyone else successfully installed 4.0.b in text mode?
Thanks!

Bump - anybody installed 4.0.b in text mode? Did it work OK or is this a bug in the installer?

Are you using a 32 bit or a 64 bit machine to install Alfresco 4.0b on?

Hi
Continuing on from this - tried again with the recent 4.0.c community release with the same result - unterminated quoted string.
Trying to install on fresh 64 bit Ubuntu server, VMWare version 8.
