Sub-groups are visible as root groups in EE 2.1

When creating sub-groups in Alfresco CE 2.1, the groups are only visible within their parent group. In Alfresco EE 2.1, however, the sub-groups are also visible as root groups in the Web client.

Is this new behaviour intentional or should I post an issue in JIRA?

I experienced this when using the bundle alfresco-enterprise-tomcat-2.1.0.zip with the 30 trial license.

My primary installation is a EE 2.1 built from SVN and it have an Enterprise Network license. This installation behaves as expected.

It is certainly not intentional. I have checked on my local copy and Sub-groups do not show up as Root groups in the Groups admin pages. They are listed in pickers (for selecting a Group) - but you would expect that.

Do you have a standard installation or are you using any kind of synced authentication such as LDAP?

Thanks,

Kevin

The installation that behaved strangely was an OOB install of alfresco-enterprise-tomcat-2.1.0.zip. We installed the bundle on a laptop to demonstrate some scripts. At first, we thought it was something wrong with the scripts. But then we tried creating some groups and sub-groups with the web client and got the same behaviour. The sub-groups were visible both at the root level and within their parent group.

Maybe one of the scripts crippled the installation. Do you have any idea on what we might have done to mess up the installation?

I just did a clean install of the bundle we used and it works as expected.

I’ll see if I can get my hands on the demo laptop to investigate what we unintentionally did to brake/alter the behaviour for sub-groups.
