Store documents in different directories

Hello,

I want your opinion on how to store documents inside Alfresco. I think in is not a good idea to store all document inside one directory (because it takes time to open the directory).

In practice, I have for example document like Invoices. 5000 per month. We can store like this :

Basic storage

/Invoice/ClientNumber01/…
/Invoice/ClientNumber02/…
…‍‍‍

Advanced storage

/Invoice/ClientNumber01/year/month/day/…
/Invoice/ClientNumber02/year/month/day/…
…‍‍‍

Perhaps better to separate with the time ?
For me, it's simplier to use the basic storage. Does I get some problems to do like this ? (after 5 years, there will be a lot of document inside one Alfresco directory).

Try to have no more than 500 direct children into one single space, as a matter of performances.

I think that Children are Directories or Files.

/Invoice/0_499/ClientNumber451/year/month/day
