Squared brackets

Hello,

It doesn't seem to be possible to use squared brackets / braces in filenames which unfortunately has an impact on our migration process!

I tried to modify "deploy/alfresco.war/WEB-INF/classes/alfresco/model/contentModel.xml" but without without success.

We also faced problems with "&" (ampersands) in filenames, but in this case a modification in the regex pattern in the above mentioned file did help.

Do you have any suggestions?

TIA!

Am I the only one who encounters this kind of problem?!  :?:

You should be able to create files/folders with square brackets in the names just fine - they are not ruled out by the regex check. What error did you get? And what mechanism are you using to import the files?

Thanks,

Kevin

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I'm using CIFS. With the webclient itself it really does work, but unfortunately it doesn't when using Windows Explorer/CIFS.

[e] I also can't open files containing squared brackets via CIFS after having them uploaded via webclient. It says that the path contains invalid characters or something like that.

Ahh i see, yes there was a known issue in the CIFS interface with square brackets in 2.0, it has been fixed in HEAD code (or the 2.0.1 maintenance release if you are an Enterprise customer). You could also use FTP which doesn't have the issue, and is faster than CIFS.

Thanks,

Kevin
