Hi,

We have a windows network, where users login using their network login/password (AD authentication). I would like to have users logged in automatically into Alfresco when they open and type the alfresco URL. Does CIFS + NTLM + AD support this? I don't want to use cookies or use the automatic login setup of the browser. What I would like to see is; Alfresco server picking up my windows login authentication to authenticate me agianst my AD so that I don't have to enter my credentials again.

It would be great if someone could share their experience of doing this or at the least point me to some documents that would help me do this.

Thank  you,
Raghu

I got it resolved. Here are the instructions to get Auto-Login enabled on your machine.
You need to add the URL to your trusted sites list in your browser. This is how you do it:
Suppose your site url is - http://alfresco.example.com

Internet Explorer:

   1. Go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Security -> Trusted Sites -> Sites
   2. Add http://alfresco.example.com
   3. Uncheck “Require server verification”

Firefox:

   1. Type about:config in address bar and hit enter
   2. Go through warning message
   3. Type network.automatic in filter bar and select filter “network.automatic-ntlm-auth.trusted-uris” by double click on filter name
   4. Add http://alfresco.example.com to trusted uris. More than one URL can be separated by comma.

This is mentioned here under 'Using Client Side NTLM' in Alfresco wiki. I remember reading it, but couldn't grasp it then. Smiley Happy
