[SOLVED] E-mail problems with Alfresco

Hi everybody!

Since I am working on how to handle e-mails on Alfresco, I first tried to send an e-mail to myself. To do so, I select "View Details" for one document in one space, then "run an action" and last "send e-mail to users". When I do that, I send an e-mail to my own e-mail address. After checking my inbox, no e-mails received…Is that normal?? I tried with different providers (gmail, hotmail and other ones), with no results…I am desperate. On the French forum, I saw that some people were facing that issue, they modified the "core-services-context.xml" and "custom-repository.properties" files (I do not have "custom-repository.properties" file, only "repository.properties" file :s, maybe a modification in 3.2 compared to Alfresco CE 3.0). Well, it looks like this :

mail.host=smtp-lb.gicm.net
mail.port=25      
mail.username=my_user_login
mail.password=my_password
mail.encoding=UTF-8
mail.header=7bit
mail.from.default=my_address
mail.smtp.auth=true‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍

Well, even if I change that, no changes in my inbox (for every e-mail address I tried before).
Any help would be great!

Well, I found a solution to my problem, looks like nobody before was experiencing this one 🙂

I'm using Alfresco CE 3.2r. To activate the e-mail sending functionality, I edited the file alfresco-global.properties, located at tomcat\shared\classes. I put this into the file (rather uncomment it 🙂 ) :

mail.host=smtp.something
mail.port=25
mail.username=your_email_adress
mail.password=your_passwd
mail.encoding=UTF-8
mail.from.default=me@me.org
mail.smtp.auth=false
mail.smtp.timeout=30000 ‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍

And this works fine…Now, I can send e-mails to people!!

are you running on tomcat or jboss, because I have problem with default email , I always get alfresco@… when alfresco runs on jboss but on tomcat with same setting i get what I want.

I've never used JBoss so far. Sorry about that!
