slow performance

Hello , i've got a problem with alfresco performance.
I'm working with alfresco wcm , and when i try to navigate the spaces of my web projects i wait a lot of time before to obtain a list of files.
But th truly problem is: i catch a big deelay when i try to open the modiefied item list or when i try to approve a workflow that is associated to some file uploaded.

I've an alfresco 2.1 EE and oracle db installed + cifs started.
My alf_data is about 8 Gb
Below there are the parameters who alfresco starts:

Hi Nicola,

have you tried to make a tuning EHCache settings of Alfresco?
In this way you can extend memory dedicated to cache contents.

http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Repository_Cache_Configuration#Overriding_the_EHCache_Defaults

You can try to increase (x2) all this default values.
