Site manager doesn't see site folders issue

Hi,

Logged as admin, I created a site in share. I created several folders and inherit permission in all parent folders.

Now I want to don't let consumer users to see child folder except the proper ones, so I un-flagged inherit permission and just add local user permission on child folders.

The weird thing is that if I log with my account, site manager, I don't see the folders I don't inherit permission to.

I can even un-flag inherit permission while I'm logged as manager and what happens is that I refresh and I don't see anymore folders I modified.

I understood that site managers always have full access and rights!

Any hint is welcome

Ciao

Hello,

you have used the "Manage Permissions" action from the Repository view instead of the site-specific "Manage Permissions" action. Only the former has the explicit option to un-flag "Inherit Permissions". This is not the intended main way to manage permissions within a site and will cut off access for the Site Manager if not done properly. Using the "Manage Permissions" action from within the site itself is far safer as this action ensures Site Managers always have access.
Your best bet to restore proper functionality is by flagging "Inherit Permissions" and using the "Manage Permissions" actions from within the site to limit Site Consumer access.

Regards
Axel

Hello, I know this is an old thread but i would like to know if the permissions can somehow be reset by the site manager. As i am not admin of Alfresco and i have managed to delete the permissions, i cannot add anyone and i cannot see the documentLibrary. The only user that can see it does not have the manage permissions option available.
