Site creation failing.

I'm having issues creating a site for a particular URL.

When I use the My-sites dashlet to create a new site with the url flowDocs i get the error: [Could not create site since the URL is already used].

however, any other url works fine. I've tried deleting and recreating the mysql database and indexes, but this doesn't seem to have helped.

Where would the site data be being stored so that I can wipe any references and create this site?

There are two places: under the Company Home / Sites space in the Repository and also in the AVM store which you'll need to access via FTP.
