Shortcut or link from one space to another space?

Hi!

I want to create links from one document in alfresco to another space in alfresco - because I don't want to upload the same document more than one times.
My (sub-sub-sub)-spaces representing one project each, and if I need e.g. the same manual for more projects I need to create a link to the once uploaded document. If I move or edit the original document, the links should be regenerated automatically.

I didn't found something like this in the hosted trial or in the documentation.

Hi Robain,
Would linking a document also allow a content search in the linked documents if i make a content search in the folder which has these linked documents?My proj req is such that in my system the documents get linked from one folder to another. If I dont replicate it in Alfresco through apis then content search wont search the linked documents and just the main documents.

Also can u help kindly me with the alfresco extensions you talked about? I am using the webserviceclient apis.How do i extend the basic code so that i can extract more features as the code snippet u pasted above. Is there a tutorial link on alfresco extensions deployment ?

I m yet to use the project u mentioned above. But my query is would the shortcut to a document in another space lead to a content search in the document
pointed by the shortcut?. I am trying that through web client but it doesnt seem to work.

Sorry for hijacking the thread, but I just played around with linkitemtospace a bit and it really workslike a charm… in Alfresco Browser. When browsing the Repository using the Windows Explorer via CIFS, I only see the URL-files, no working links.

Does somebody know something similar to linkitemtospace, but also working via CIFS..?!

Hi Meritant.

Have you tried adding another (non 'primary') parent-child association to the original file-node?
Nodes can have multiple folder parents.
AFAIK, only acheivable using code, but only a couple of lines.
