Sharepoint and Word 2003

I have installed Alfresco Labs 3 (Alfresco and share) and i can connect to them both via a browser and can create spaces and documents with no problems.  I am now trying to access alfresco using Word 2003 and sharepoint protocol but whenever i try to Open alfresco from File->Open all i get it a copy of the Alfresco home page instead of the "Shared Workspace" login box.  The url i am trying to open is http://myalfrescoserver:8080/alfresco.

If i try to create a new workspace by using Word Tools->Shared Workspace i get the following error:

"The action could not be completed. For more information, contact your site administrator, or try again later"

I have checked on my alfresco server and vti-module.amp resides in /opt/Alfresco/amps - what could be wrong?

Hi,

you have to install the VTI module. In the root directory of your Alfresco installation is script called apply_amps. This will install the SharePoint Protocol feature.

I now get a login box when i try to open http://alfrescoserver/alfresco/ from MS Word File->Open but after entering correct login credentials i get the following message from MS word:

"The internet address 'http://alfrescoserver/alfresco/' is not valid"


But this is the same address that i use within a web browser and that works ok.   I have tried this on Windows XP with Office 2003 and Vista with Office 2007 and get the same error.

Any clues?

I had this also and restarted everything and this solved it.

Hi, i've tried restarting everything but still get the same error, i've also noticed that sometimes i received the following error in alfresco.log but it doesn't seem to occur everytime i get the error from MS Word

Hi, i've tried it on workstations that i haven't tried to connect before and they all get the same error, whether they are running Word 2003 or 2007
