After creating a user and logging into share with them, the dashboard information does not appear. I can click on the links at the top like "Sites" but the dashboard is not populated with any data. In the alfresco.log I see things like this:

15:23:03,245 ERROR [org.alfresco.web.site.FrameworkHelper] A Page Rendering problem was handled
15:23:03,245 ERROR [org.alfresco.web.site.FrameworkHelper] Page Id: site/talyab/dashboard
15:23:03,245 ERROR [org.alfresco.web.site.FrameworkHelper] java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org/apache/log4j/spi/ThrowableInformation
15:23:09,618 ERROR [org.alfresco.web.site.FrameworkHelper] A Region Rendering problem was handled
15:23:09,619 ERROR [org.alfresco.web.site.FrameworkHelper] Template Id: dashboard-3-columns
15:23:09,619 ERROR [org.alfresco.web.site.FrameworkHelper] Region Id: header
15:23:09,619 ERROR [org.alfresco.web.site.FrameworkHelper] Region Scope Id: global
15:23:09,619 ERROR [org.alfresco.web.site.FrameworkHelper] org.alfresco.web.framework.exception.RegionRendererExecutionException: Unable to render region: header

I created another user and it works fine, but just curious if anyone knows the resolution to this – version: Alfresco Labs 3.0.0 Stable 1526

There were some encoding problems with userIds in Share v1.0 (Alfresco 3.0). I'm going to guess that the user with problems has some non-ASCII character in there somewhere?

Best advice I can give is to try the latest Community version - 3.2r2 - instead.

Thanks,
Mike

Yes, we do need to upgrade that instance – but it had been generally problem free so we hadn't gone through the effort/risk.

I don't think that user has any non-ascii characters unless they are not displaying in the alfresco explorer user management. Oh well. The other user name works for now…
