Share 3.4a bugs

Hi all,
I installed Alfresco 3.4a but I found some big bugs and I don't know if I missed something or what.

1. I opened share with FF 3.6.10, clicked on Repository browse but then I can't browse the spaces because if I click on the folders icon nothing happens!! Maybe some js problem?? If I do the same with IE or Chrome I don't have any problems.

2. I tryed to add a group in Admin console Tools > Groups. If I click browse the box where I should add the group does't appear!! If I use FF or Chrome this bug doesn't happen.

I don't tested anymore, but I don't understand how this things goes unnoticed by alfresco engineers.

One year ago in an Alfresco meeting an Alfresco person said that Share will replace the classic Alfresco Explorer, but I think that Share lack many functionalities of Alfresco Explorer and also is less useable.

I can't reproduce the first issue with Firefox. Make sure you "force refresh" the browser, as it definitely sounds like a caching issue.

The groups bug is a knows issue that's already been fixed for 3.4.b. It affected MSIE only, hence got overlooked.

Share is only at v1.4 (as it was first released at Alfresco v3.0) so you need to allow us a reasonable amount of time to put the REST APIs in place as well as the UI! If Share doesn't have the features you need, there's no problem you sticking with the Explorer client; it's not deprecated.

Thanks,
Mike

I got the problem in FF also in other machine, so I don't think it was a cache issue.

I'm glad to listen to your words on Share, maybe I din't understand well what they said to me. I hope Share will be ready soon cause you already done a good work with Explorer client.  😎

Thanks for your reply and good work!

The only other option I can think of is that a particular Firefox add-on is blocking some of Share's JavaScript, or otherwise altering the page behaviour somehow.

"AdBlock" is known to cause issues - there may be others.

Thanks,
Mike

Hello Mike,
I had the same problem when I first access Groups in Share.
When I clicked on Browse I obtained an empty list and I couldn't find the add group button. There was no javascript error. Simply a blank list with no groups and no buttons.
I use also FF.
I don't know why after some activity on the site the browse button start working.

Now I have another problem.
I moved the "ALFRESCO_ADMINISTRATORS" group under another group (with add a subgroup button).
I can't find a way to move it back to root.

There are still several bugs in 3.4a and 3.4b (nightly build). One in particular with tags. When I create a folder and documents that have been taged in a share site, and I afterwards delete the documents and/or folders then the number of tags under the "tag-tree" still shows the total amount of tags. So I assume the total tag number does not get updated after a document delete. If i press the tag with the associated deleted document, the document does not show up cause it does not exist any longer.

kind regards,
tb
