I need to know if there is a way to restrict the number of attemps to login so that the user is not guessing the password??

There is not a way to do this at present. Please raise an item in JIRA if you require this feature.

Alfresco Web Client (as an Improvement or New Feature) and as a Framework component item i guess. It doesn't matter that much, we can always re-file if it ends up in a strange place
