Hello,

Is it possibile to set/use permissions for users/groups so they can be allowed/denied to use a project space or to have different permissions on them ?

Sorry if I'm not writing in the proper forum.

Regards,
Sergiu

The advanced security and permissions framework is available now as part of the Alfresco Enterprise Network http://www.alfrescosoftware.com

Group support is a feature coming shortly to the Enterprise version.

After much discussion and from listening to the comments from the community, a permissions framework is being added to the open version also.

Thanks,

Kevin

Kevin,

What is going to be present in the Enterprise version that won't be available in the open version? I assume LDAP and NTLM will be absent from open source, but is there anything else?

I believe it's currently the following: Clustering, replication, automated backup and restore, groups, single sign-on with LDAP and NTLM, Federated Search and complex workflow through BPEL.

Note that features may be moved down from Enterprise into the Open version as the product matures and as it makes sense for the community.

Thanks,

Kevin

kevin,

thanks that's great news!  any estimate regarding timing on this (the addition of a permissions framework to the open source version)?  will this allow spaces and files to be restricted based on a user's assigned permissions?

thanks again.
