Run action against multiple documents

Hello

In our repository, there's an action that was developed a few months ago. When applied to a single file, it successfully applies a custom aspect and fills the new metadata fields from a database.

Now we must run that action against a few thousand files that are already loaded in an alfresco space. We must run that action against every file in that space.

Is it possible to run an action against all the files inside an space and all its subspaces?

Thanks in advance!

ps. I've tried to run the action in the space properties page, but the custom aspect gets applied to the space, not to the files, as intended.

Hello,

You can add a rule to your directory (select your action). Then in your directory, click on "More Actions", "Manage Content Rules",  "More Actions", "Reapply Rules in Spaces and Children"
(explication for DM (Share not tested))

Good luck

you can add a script to go try all files you like and do with them what you need. http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/JavaScript_API
