restoring guest user

All,

I am using Alfresco 1.4 on JBoss 4.0.5 with MySQL.

I wanted to change the home location for the guest user. I logged in as admin to manage user. To change the location, I had to add a Last Name (Guest) and an email (my email). Now the guest user doesn't appear to work correctly, even when I sent the home location back to 'Guest Home'.

This is beginning of the error I see:
13:43:34,968 INFO  [STDOUT] 13:43:34,968 ERROR [[jsp]] Servlet.service() for servlet jsp threw exception
javax.faces.el.EvaluationException: Cannot get value for expression '#{NavigationBean.location}'
        at org.apache.myfaces.el.ValueBindingImpl.getValue(ValueBindingImpl.java:397)
        at javax.faces.component.UICommand.getValue(UICommand.java:170)

Going to http://<host>/alfresco forces me to the login page. Not what I want.

Is there any way (maybe through a sql update) to restore the guest user to it's original values?

Thanks
Harry

I am having the same issue, but on the 2.0 community release. Deleted the guest account, then wanted to test the RSS feeds, and realized I should have let it be…

Hi

You can recreate the guest user without any problem.
The details and password do not matter (but it must be "guest").

You then need to make sure you web browser does not cache anything …
Log out and - close the browser and go to http://wibble:8080/alfresco
