Restoring backup on new server

When restoring an Alfresco database I get the following error:

I did the following to restore:
* Restoring MySQL
* copy alf_data to tomcat root folder
* deleted alfresco indexes
* index.recovery.mode=full
* repository.properties points to: dir.root=./alf_data

Any ideas?

This error means Alfresco cannot find the alf_data folder - and therefore cannot find the lucene indexes.

You say this:

Did you infact mean to copy the data to tomcat/bin folder? This is where Alfresco will expect to find it by default! You can point your 'dir.root' value to an absolute folder path if this helps to ensure it doesn't happen again.
