Repository Browser in Alfresco 3.3G

I would like to give my compliments to Alfresco developers for the new Repository Browser in Share.
This tool allows something, in my opinion, amazing: navigating and previewing files that are not phisically into the Alfresco repository!
I didn't try this yet, but I suppose you can create a symbolic link in Linux (through Alfresco CIFS) somewhere into the repository (for example, in user homes) which points to an archive folder in the OS file system.
I think this could be useful for companies which have a huge file archive onto a server and don't want to import the whole archive in Alfresco, but just let users preview (and download) these files from an Alfresco server in the same LAN.

My question is: can you find a way to do this in a Windows machine?
Symlinks exist in NTFS but they are obviously incompatible with the Alfresco CIFS file system…

Thank you!

Thank you, however the Repository Browser only allows you to view documents that are within the Alfresco Repository (hence the name!)

Thanks,
Mike

For "not phisically in the Alfresco repository" I mean files and folders that are symlinked (in a Linux filesystem) into the Alfresco Repository through CIFS.
Couldn't it work??

CIFS is a view onto the Repository, it's not a "real" filesystem. Nodes must have metadata entries in the database and be indexed by Lucene in order to appear via any APIs.

Thanks,
