Reports Button option ?

Hi,

I have been searching for some of this information without luck and thinking about a few other items. I was hoping someone could shed some insight… ( Alf Community 3.2r2 with the matching RM setup.exe windows os )


Q) In one of the demo’s there was a tab option for Reports. The reports looked great but in my version there are only tabbed options for; File Plan, Record Search and Members.

The very first mock-up we did had a Report tab. What we found however was that searches and reports ended up being so similar that it was difficult to distinguish them.

Consequently we blended Reports into Search, but additionally we created the concept of a Saved Search, this effectively allows you to create your own reports by saving a search. You could for instance define a search which is "All Undeclared Records Older Than a Month" and save this and then re-run it as a report when required. Saved Searches also have additional uses as well so it was a good compromise.
