Hi,
Do you want to totally remove the login page or just give the access to public? My case is some areas are private and some are public. So, I use guest login and gave read/ write access accordingly to public documents areas. Set user roles (<i>Consumer, Contributor, Editor, Owner, Coordinator, Collaborator</i>) as you requirements.
Best Regards
Samu

I think it's possible because in proprieties you can set permission to "guest"
maybe having an automatic guest connection when someone connect to your website
