To get the system asap working again I should remove all versioning aspects from all documents recursivly. I already googled a tried to run an action on the top folder but nothing seems to work. Its a bit urgent to get this aspects out we loose more and more excel documents.
This may work. http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Iterate_Nodes Instead of adding an aspect, you can of course remove it. Add a test in there to make sure it you just update excel documents.
I suggest you run in batches by starting in lower lever folders. And, most important, try in a test environment first!
If it all works well (or not), please report back, I've tried this on smaller repositories only, so any feedback on how feasible it is for larger repos is welcome.
