remove alfresco footer for a non-internet connected instance

hi,
I have an alfresco server running on a private LAN, the links in the default footer don't work (and they dont have to) and i have a great latency for display of the navigation panel. how can i remove this footer ?

Essentially you need to edit PageTag.java. Search the forums for "PageTag" for some hints.
