Just released 5.8 with a bit of a delay.
Apologies for that. We've aim to do better next time. I've started with putting the dates for the 5.9 in the calendar and in jira:

Release Activiti 5.9 on February 1st 2012
If you have issues that should be tackled or have contributions you want to propose in 5.9, bring them up now so that we can get back to the smooth rythm of a frequent and steady release process.
