Question about : Activiti and Alfresco for Master Thesis

Hi,

I'm from Germany and writing  my Master thesis about open source Workflow managament Systems, can  somebody help me and answer the following questeion?



-How many Edition do you have? Is therere other edition for beside the Communtiy Edition? (like enterprice edition etc.)

-who is the Owner of  activiti? Is it Alfresco? or the community?

-For which industries  sector is activiti good for? is there any special industries? or can i use activiti for every business?

-Is activit for big , middle or  litle businesses?  or all of them?

-How many custommer use  activiti?
-Who are the reference customer of activiti  ? (important company that use activiti)
-How many user can use activiti at the same time

Yes, we have an Enterprise Edition: https://www.alfresco.com/products/activiti

-who is the Owner of activiti? Is it Alfresco? or the community?

There is no 'owner' of Activiti: the source code is open source under Apache license.
Alfresco does pay the wage of most of the core developers, and also has the 'activiti' name registered.

-For which industries sector is activiti good for? is there any special industries? or can i use activiti for every business?

Yes, Activiti is used in all kinds of industries, not really limited. Healthcare, finance, government, industrial processes, … they all can and do use Activiti!

-Is activit for big , middle or litle businesses? or all of them?

Can be used for any size business, however, typically you see that bigger businesses will more quickly adopt BPM as it helps to get the processes under control (which are more manageable in smaller businesses).

-How many custommer use activiti?

Almost impossible to say, as we are open source and we don't know who has installed Activiti.

-Who are the reference customer of activiti ? (important company that use activiti)

We haven't published many reference customers (our marketing is working on it).
But we are working together with many customers and community users (for example read http://www.jorambarrez.be/blog/2015/07/20/the-activiti-performance-showdown-2015/)

-How many user can use activiti at the same time

The hardware is the limiting factor here.
