problems creating a site

I am new to Alfresco and i am having trouble in creating a site, every time i try to create a site the following error appears:

Wrapped Exception (with status template): Failed to execute script '/org/alfresco/repository/site/sites.post.json.js (in classpath store file:/opt/alfresco/tomcat/webapps/alfresco/WEB-INF/classes/alfresco/templates/webscripts)': Failed to execute script '/org/alfresco/repository/site/sites.post.json.js (in classpath store file:/opt/alfresco/tomcat/webapps/alfresco/WEB-INF/classes/alfresco/templates/webscripts)': Wrapped org.alfresco.repo.security.permissions.AccessDeniedException: Access Denied. You do not have the appropriate permissions to perform this operation. (AlfrescoScript#31)

in the error message does it list another script or a line of code it failed on. I have been having one script fail causing another script to fail. it may be higher up the log. 

I believe you need to look into alfresco.log and catalina.log.  I may have the names wrong.  but the alfresco log file is in the root alfresco folder with the startup scripts and the other log files are int the tomcat>logs folder

Also, what kind of configuration have you done on the Alfresco side?

What Alfresco version are using?  on the community side there is an A, B and C or are you on enterprise.
