problem with .xls, doc,xlsx,,,,etc .. office documents

when iam trying to upload xls, xlsx, doc, docx it shows .. failed to upload.. even when uploaded ,, it shows.. could not be previewed.,.. it happens only to office documents.. how to resolve this issue……

Check the version of Openoffice you are using, or upgrade to the new version of OpenOffice
