I meet problem at startup of Alfresco, just after install and configuration of the properties files with the following error :

Hi,
I'm experiencing the same using linux slackware and Mysql: the trace is absolutely the same.
I installed/uninstalled several time experiencing the same error.
The only functional configuration is the default one using hsqldb.

I did the same on Windows without problems.

I will appretiate if somebody can give some help.

Hi,
after troubleshooting session I was able to figure out that the mysql installation on linux does not enable by default the external connection:

What I did was comment out the line:
# SKIP="–skip-networking"
into the /etc/rc.d/rc.mysqld

Now I 'm able to use alfresco with mysql.

Hi,

Could you post the first few lines of the startup log, i.e. everything reported by Alfresco prior to this exception.  In particular, I would like to see which Hibernate dialect you are using?

What the traces are showing is a side-effect of the database disallowing the execution of an early bootstrap SQL statement.  The first trace is probably an incompatibility in the SQL and the second problem is an actual permission issue.  In both cases, the exception causes a chain reaction that ends in the no transaction issue.

Hi, I am getting the same error deploying Alfresco in JBoss using Oracle10g (Linux Red Hat), building the war from source code checked out from SVN.
I get the same stack trace previously posted: ORA-00923 exception.

Could anyone give me a hint on what's going on or what I could be doing wrong?

Usually, you'll have an error with the config of the dialect.
