Hi team,
I'm trying to customize my dashboard with 3column layout. When i use this layout my screen is becoming large.
and not able to see in the screen without dragging. So can anyone tell me how to fix the sizes for columsns in the layouts.
And in which file i need to make changes.
thanks in advance.

hi Mike and Alf team,
If we use single layout then, there was some limit in no.of dashlets per column? i.e it allows maximum 5 dashlets per column.
I don't know why it is working like this.
my advice is, most of the users are using 17" monitor or less for laptops, if the 3 column layout is fit only for large screens then what is the use of this?
And that too developing these dashlets is looks a bit difficult. And time consuming as well (why because the alfresco team has already spend a lot of time for this and giving the fruit to the users).
So is there any plan for changing these dashlets size in the next release? or is there any way to reduce the size of these default dashlets ?
My alfresco's version is labs 3.0 stable.

There are no plans to refactor the dashlets.
Once you've taken a couple of days to get up-tp-speed with webscripts, it's not that hard to write your own.

My 17" laptop is 1920x1200 and the 3-column layout works very well.

Hi Mike,
I'm trying to increase the resolution from 1024x780 to 1280x1024.
Then these dashlets are becoming very small and not able to read the content in them. This is just for 1280X1024,
if i use 1920x1200 resolution as you mentioned in above, then these dashlets are become very small (Ithink).
Then how to resolve this resolution problem? Is there anyway to reduce the size of columns???

There's no "out of the box" solution to your problem!
You want to display information on three columns, but say that using 1280x1024 on a 17" screen makes the data too small to read.
I don't see how this can be solved, other than by living with 2 columns. Or by moving closer to your screen!
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,
Now a days most of the portals are providing the facility for customizing the layouts.
So we can reduce the column layouts by using this feature.
Why Alfresco is not looking such kind of enhancements/feature while playing a no.1 role in open source ECM products ?
