Hi team,
I'm trying to customize my dashboard with 3column layout. When i use this layout my screen is becoming large.
and not able to see in the screen without dragging. So can anyone tell me how to fix the sizes for columsns in the layouts.
And in which file i need to make changes.

thanks in advance.

Which version of Alfresco have you got?
Which browser do you see this on?
What screen resolution do you use?
Can you screencap the problem please?

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,
I'm using labs 3.0 stable version.
I'm using mozilla firefox 3.1 and IE 7.o both are having same problem.
my screen resolution is 1024 X 768.
i'm not able to attache screnn here. but it is big and we need to drag the bottom line then we can see all the columns one by one.

I can't reproduce the problem here - although I did fix a recent problem where dashlet widths were fixed after vertical resizing.

You can use a free service like ImageShack to upload to here.

Thanks,
Mike

The last 5 dashlets in the default list (Document List, My Spaces List, My Tasks, My Web Forms & My Web Files) are all fixed width, so you will get horizontal scrolling if you use one of those on a relatively low-res screen.

In fact, I think you're always going to have problems trying to use the default dashlets in a 3-column layout on that resolution - it's mostly for people with widescreen displays (e.g. it works fine on my 1920x1200 screen).

There are a number of options you can take:
- Only use the 2-column layouts
- Create your own narrower dashlets
- Buy some widescreen displays!

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike,
Already there are some predefined dashlets. like my tasks to do, my pooled tasks, my completed atsks, my space .. etc.
Do i need to create these dashlets againg.
Can u help me in creating these dashlets any guide/books .. And that too creating these dashlets are a bit heavy (cpz i'm new to these dashlests/webscripts)…
And one more thing i have created a user through alfresco web-console and assigned a space.. then uploaded some docs. But i'm not able to see these workspaces and documents through share.
I have doubt here, why you have created another project for share instead of putting these dahslets in alfresco's dashboard?
ok, then how give a link to share from alfresco web-client? with single sign on?

It sounds like you'd be much better off using a 2-column layout. Why the fixation with 3 columns?

Share looks at documents loaded into Sites spaces.

Did you look at Share? It's a completely different UI using the SURF framework which can be deployed on a separate Tomcat server - i.e. it enables separation from the Repository. Share is much more than a few dashlets!!

This would be specific to your installation - as I mentioned before, Share can be deployed pretty much anywhere, so the Explorer web client doesn't know where it is.

Thanks,
Mike
