Primitive search missing documents

I have added a few documents to a test folder using CIFS.

Then I searched for those documents and discovered that e.g. JPGs containing the search term in the title do not show up in the search results.

Why? And how can this be changed?

Today I found out - after completely reinstalling on Windows and also on Linux that most (if not all) problems in my search tests work fine on the Linux installations and do not work correctly on the Windows installations! - Tested on several environments.
