In my Document Library, I have different kinds of documents (.doc, .txt, .pdf…etc). The "Preview" feature only works for pdf and image file types, I have openoffice headless integrated, both swftools and ImageMagick installed. For other types of content the following notification is displayed: "This document can't be previewed. Click here to download and watch it."

I'm trying to preview .doc files, anyone have success?

Thanks!

look at the alfreco.log, OpenOffice (soffice) is in the wrong directory.

It is in ALFRESCOHOME\OpenOfficePortable\App\openoffice,
but should be in ALFRESCOHOME\openoffice\openoffice.org.

You must just create the ALFRESCOHOME\openoffice\openoffice.org
an copy the all files from ALFRESCOHOME\OpenOfficePortable\App\openoffice
into the new directory.

Further you start soffice before you restart alfreco,
because you have to agree the GPL and you will be asked if you want to registered…

Ok, I looked at my alfresco.log and looks like openoffice did started up(meaing no [ERROR] entries)
I also checked that port 8100 is being listen to.

-bash-3.2# netstat -anp |grep 8100
tcp        0      0 127.0.0.1:8100              0.0.0.0:*                   LISTEN      13933/soffice.bin
